Mark T. Quinters

Mark T. Quinters, 74, of Valley Mills passed into the arms of his Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 16, at Zion United Church with Rev. Josh Jordan and Rev. R. Michael Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Bismarck Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 15, at Clifton Funeral Home.

Mark was born to Alfred and Ruth Quinters in Gonzalas, TX on November 24, 1942. The family moved to San Antonio where Mark was a member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church and attended school at St. Gerard’s Catholic School, grades 1-12. After high school, Mark joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed on Nantucket Island, MA. After the Navy, he attended Texas State University majoring in Art Education.

He married Carla Quinters on January 9, 1982 and they made their home in the Cayote Community in Bosque County, where their daughter, Nora, and later their granddaughter, Emma, were born.

Mark worked for the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs as a property management analyst, an appraiser, and as a claims rater, retiring in 2003.

Mark loved life, enjoyed people and was an eternal optimist.

Survivors include his wife, Carla; children, Nora, Kelli, Dana, and Shane; brothers, Ben and Jeff; and six grandchildren.
