Martin Del Bosque, 63, of Clifton, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2018 after a long struggle with cancer. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Grand Old Gospel Lighthouse. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Martin was born in Mathis, Tx on November 19, 1954 to Juan and Jesusa Del Bosque. He married Alice Navarrete on August 19, 1989 and they spent 28 years together in marriage. Martin had three children, Marty, Marci, and Monica.
Martin loved classic rock music and attended many concerts over the years. He was known for his collection of rock concert T-shirts and loved listening to his music. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Reading western books was also a favorite past time for Martin. Most of all, Martin loved spending time with his family and friends – whether playing cards with family, cooking out with family, or just stopping by for a visit. Family was an important part of his life and he loved to laugh and joke with everyone he was around.
Martin also loved his church and his relationship with his Lord and Savior. He attended Fundamental Baptist Church for several years. When he learned of his fate with the last battle with cancer, Martin said “I’m ok with it – I’ve lived a really good life”.
Martin was preceded in death by his father, Juan Del Bosque; his brother Emilio Del Bosque; his sister Dora Lopez, and a grandson, Trisston Oaks. He is survived by his wife, Alice; three children, Marty Del Bosque and wife, Kourtney, Marci Armer and husband, David, Monica Felan and husband, Mario; 9 grandchildren, his mother, Jesusa Del Bosque; three brothers, Daniel Del Bosque, Manuel Villarreal, and Lupe Del Bosque; and three sisters Betty Chapa, Yolanda Fowler, and Esmeralda Perales, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Martin was loved and cherished by all who knew him and will be dearly missed by all.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice Sunset for their wonderful care given to Martin over the past few months and also to Dr. Squyres and the Doctors at Scott & White.
