Marvin Ray Patrick, born on January 1, 1979, in Clifton, Texas, passed away on August 15, 2024, in Waco, Texas. He was the beloved son of George Patrick and the late Linda F. Patrick. Marvin grew up in Cranfills Gap, Texas, where he was confirmed at the Lutheran Church and his academic and athletic studies, particularly in basketball, throughout his K - 12 education.
Marvin was a dedicated employee, having worked at Double B in Meridian, Texas and in the maintenance department at Clifton ISD.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hiking and also found much joy in playing video games.
Marvin’s commitment to helping others extends beyond his lifetime as he chose to donate his body to medical research, focusing on diabetes.
Marvin is survived by his father, George Patrick; brother, Dale Patrick; and a loving circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda F. Patrick, and his grandparents, Lloyd and Anna Sorley; and Finnis Elbert (Pat) and Edna Louise Patrick.
A memorial service to celebrate Marvin’s life will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Clifton, Texas, at 11 am. Pastors Cody Creel and Brian Barrett will officiate the service.
As a fitting tribute to Marvin’s love for fishing and the outdoors, attendees are invited to a fish fry following the service.
