Mary Mann Treadaway, 97, of Clifton, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2023. Services are pending at this time.

She was born on May 2, 1926, in Lubbock, Texas. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mary's love for reading was evident throughout her life. She was an avid reader who enjoyed trading books with friends, writing inside each book to share her thoughts and recommendations. She graduated from High School in Slayton, Texas, and also took some classes at Texas Tech University. In 1946, Mary met her husband Roy on a blind date, and they married shortly after. Together, they had two children.

Mary and Roy were actively involved in their community. They played a significant role in building the West Shore Community Center and dedicated their time to working with Meals on Wheels. Mary also enjoyed participating in crafts at the Bluebonnet Club in Laguna Park. Before retiring, she worked in the office of the Corp of Engineers. Mary was a former member of Lake Whitney Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Georgan Vann (Kevin), and her grandchildren, Carrie Ann Pierson, Roy Allen Pierson (Amanda), Nicole Treadaway, and Michelle Diane Jones (Barry). She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Unity E.L. Feldmeyer, Devyn Alexander Jones, and Jace Jones. Mary had a special mention for Sandra Dunlap, a loving caretaker and friend.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, George Holland Sargent and Annie Mary Mann, as well as her son, Marcus Alexander Treadaway.

Mary Mann Treadaway will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished.
