Mickey Lella

March 25, 1948 — January 29, 2015

Mickey Lella, 66, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord Thursday, January 29, after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation with family will be Sunday, February 1st, from 2 pm - 4 pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday, February 2nd, also at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 152 County Road 4145, Clifton, TX. 76634.

Michael Anthony Lella was born March 25, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Tony and Mary Lou (Clearman) Lella. Mickey attended school in Oglesby and McGregor. After graduation from McGregor High School in 1967, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Mickey married Amanda Geltemeyer October 15, 1994. They celebrated over 20 years of marriage.

Mickey was a Master Mason for over 36 years. He was a member of McGregor and Clifton Lodge and was Past Master in both. Mickey was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Karem Shrine.

Being a natural at sales and hospitality, Mickey held several positions at Davis Coffee Company, Lella Foods, and Pitney Bowes. He also loved working for himself and had many business adventures including Andy's Restaurant in Gatesville, Studebakers Pizza in Clifton, Mickey's Autos and Mickey's Wholesale.

Mickey loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. Mickey always looked forward to the exchanging of pertinent information with his friends over coffee.

Preceding him in death was his son, Michael Andrew Lella. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Lella; daughters, Melissa Lella-Pevehouse and husband, Chris, Amy Lella, Katy Lella and Hannah Lella; step-son, Chris Elliott and wife, Annette; daughter-in-law, Michelle Lella; his beloved grandchildren, Michael Austin Lella, Caden and Allison Elliott, Alexis Reyes, Morgan and Matthew Pevehouse; sister, Judy Miller; brother, Andy Lella; an uncle, Jack Clearman; and his companion, Sophie.

For those desiring, memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Norse or Clifton Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund.
