Nadine Seljos

July 13, 1928 — July 31, 2018

Nadine Marie Seljos, 90, of Clifton passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at First Baptist Church, Clifton with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating.

Nadine Cash was born in Clifton Texas on July 13, 1928. She was one of six daughters born to George and Willie Cash. She grew up in Clifton and attended Clifton Schools. After her graduation from high school, she married WWII returning Navy man Jodie Seljos. They made their home in Clifton for a number of years and moved briefly to Denver City in West Texas before returning to Clifton. The couple had three children born to their marriage, Larry, Michael, and Tanya. They were raised in Clifton and graduated from Clifton High School and all of them served in military service.

Nadine and her husband Jodie were active in the VFW and American Legion. They were involved in monthly events of these two organizations and helped in their gatherings along with the Bronstads, Godbys, Conrads, Ottingers, Wrights, Allens and others. She also loved to dance and enjoyed country and western music.

Nadine worked for several years for Colvert’s Drugstore and saved her money for a European trip to see her son Michael who was stationed in Glasgow, Scotland with the U.S. Navy. She made that trip with her husband Jodie and daughter Tanya in 1972. She and her husband were members at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Norse. Jodie was a long-time painting contractor in Bosque County.

After Jodie passed in 2001, Nadine moved to Flagstaff to be with her son Michael and her daughter Tanya in 2010. She enjoyed traveling all around Arizona, California, Colorado, and Utah with her son Michael during her years there. She thoroughly enjoyed the mountains, expansive sky, and wildlife.

She had a Pekinese dog she enjoyed for years named Ming-Toy. She also was a lover of cats and had a number of them. She loved flowers and had a green thumb. She could grow just about anything as her flower garden would show. She was known for her chicken fried steak, her homemade hamburgers, and she was a dessert queen.

She moved back to Clifton in 2015 and lived with her sister Joyce Cash until her declining health forced her into nursing care at Goodall-Witcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Willie Cash, her husband Jodie Seljos, her sisters Barbara Sue, Sarah Maude, and Melba.

She is survived by children Larry of Speegleville, Michael of San Diego, California and Tanya of Flagstaff, Arizona. She is also survived by a grandson, Joshua, and two granddaughters, Jodie, and Carrie, and great-grandchildren Joshua, Bailey, Delaney, Colton, Emily, and Adam, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

She is also survived by her sister Joyce Cash of Clifton, Texas and her sister Margaret Starn of Port Charlotte, Florida.
