Richard Urban Strickland

Richard Urban Strickland, 66, of Clifton passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory.

Richard was born August 28, 1952, to Vernon and Neomi (Jordan) Strickland. In 1970, he graduated from Hillsboro High School and later received a degree in computer science. For some time, he was a production worker at Campbells Soup in Hillsboro at the Mushroom Farm and Coca-Cola Minute Maid for over ten years until his retirement in 2016. On September 11, 2016, he married Michelle Ann Marksberry. Rick loved to watch college and professional football especially the University of Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Strickland, and brother, Milton Strickland.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Strickland of Clifton; mother, Kitty Strickland of Peoria; son, Ricky Strickland of Denton; stepchildren, Jessica Michelle Dawson of Clifton and Clayton Gene Bayer of Clifton; sister, Suzy Miller of Peoria; grandson, Ricky Strickland; nieces and nephews, including Amanda Russell.
