Robert "Bob" Hanes, Sr.

Robert "Bob" Hanes, 82, of Clifton passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Clifton Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 3, 2016, in the Clifton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Clifton Funeral Home.

Born on December 17, 1933, Bob was the son of Morris and Irene (Miller) Hanes. He served in the U. S. Army from 1957-59. Following the service, he worked as a postal carrier in Oklahoma City, OK for many years. At the early age of thirteen, he began playing golf which became his cherished hobby over the years. In his spare time, he also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and loved to listen to big band music and music from the 50's and 60's. A very loving, caring, and honest man, you always knew where Bob stood on an issue. He was of the Baptist faith.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Shirley Hanes, of Clifton; children, John Hanes and wife Tammy of Oklahoma City, OK, Debra Hills and husband Jim of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Melody Davis and husband Jack of Bluff Dale, Vincent Sterling and wife Niccie of Walnut Springs, Brad Sterling of Clifton; sister, Jeanette Jansom of Yukon, OK; eight grandchildren; six great-grandsons and a host of family and friends.
