Robert Earle “Bob” Morton, 73, of Clifton passed away on December 17, 2022 at his residence after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Clifton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 P.M. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Clifton Funeral Home.
Bob was born on July 8, 1949 in Gatesville, Texas to Charles Lewis and Robbie Marie (Whisenhunt) Morton. He graduated from Clifton High School in 1970 where he participated in Football, Golf, Tennis and played in the Jazz Band. He married Linda Sparks on December 22, 1970 right after coming home from Navy Boot Camp. They moved to several different locations while he served in the Navy for 10 years as a Search & Rescue Airman and an Avionics Electrician. They moved back to Clifton after he was discharged from the Navy to continue raising their family. He worked for L3 Communications for nearly 20 years as an aircraft electrician. He then worked for American Systems where he was a Liaison Engineer until his retirement in 2019.
Bob loved going fishing, hunting and most of all going to sporting events for all of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Merrell Sparks.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years Linda Morton, daughter Cybil Humphreys and husband James of Clifton; Son Wade Morton and wife Lindsey of China Spring; Sister Sharon Willmann and husband Carl of Clifton; Sister Susan Zapata and husband Ray of Junction; Grandsons Bodee Humphreys and Noah Morton; Granddaughters Hannah Morton, Kate Humphreys and Ellie Morton and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association or Shiloh Baptist Church, 829 Shiloh Church Rd., Crawford, TX 76638.
