Rocklyn "Rocky" Mrahunec

April 22, 1956 — August 24, 2018

Rocklyn (Rocky) Mrahunec passed away at his home in Clifton, Tx on August 24, 2018. He was 62 years old. The regularly scheduled Rosary at Holy Angels Catholic Church will be recited by Father Xavier at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, and will include the remembrances of Rocky.

He leaves behind two sons, Rocklyn Adam Mrahunec of Guy TX, and Christopher Ethan Mrahunec of Hawaii. Preceding him in death were his father, George F. Mrahunec, Sherry Lynn Clough Mrahunec and the boy’s mom, Tamara Canada Mrahunec Fish. Family includes his mother, Anna M. Mrahunec, sister, George Anna M. Bobo, and half-sister Tyona M. Garcia. Rocky also appreciated Daniel E. and Stephanie Groeotzke and all the aunts & uncles and other family members who played a major role in his and his son’s lives.

Rocky joined the U.S. Army and served from 1975-1978 mostly in Germany. He worked many years in the ranch and industrial construction trade. Besides loving country music, dancing, our dogs, and sharing stories of his life with friends, Rocky loved to read (day and night). He always had his Kindle in hand reading a new historical novel. He was a cowboy who traveled lightly and never met a stranger. He loved the Texas hill country, but, most of all, he loved his boys more than they will ever know.

He was a spiritual man. Material things weren’t that important to him. God, family, country, and friends… that’s what it was all about. Warren Stinson was Rocky’s best friend and shared a lifetime of memories. During his last seven years, Bill and Jolene Ingram and son Mike of Clifton became his extended family, helping and caring for each other. He loved the people of Clifton and never wanted to leave.

At Rocky’s request, his ashes will be lifted up to the heavens to fall over the Texas hill country. His family requests that you remember him by adding his name to your church’s prayer list, and if possible, saying a prayer or rosary for him. Condolences can be mailed to his sons at 15205 Marek Ln, Guy, Tx. 77444 or call Bill Ingram at 254-717-8206 or contact his sister at 832-309-0764 or [email protected]

I love you Rock…. “May the angels guide you to the paradise of heaven”

Condolences may be made at www.cliftonfh.com.
