Ronald Swenson

Ronald Paul Swenson passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 16, 2024, at Clifton Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Clifton Funeral Home.

Ronald Paul Swenson was born on September 29, 1946, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton, Texas, to Vernon and Tina (Banichetti) Swenson.

Ron, as he was known, served in the National Guard after graduating from Clifton High School in 1965. He worked as a carpenter and an electrician most of his life, until becoming legally blind and suffering a stroke nearly 20 years ago.

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Martha (Garf) Swenson of nearly 53 years. Ron is survived by his brothers, Gary and his wife Billie, his brother Vern, and sisters Rosemary Swenson and Nancy Chatalas. He is also survived by his sons, Travis Swenson and his wife Elizabeth (Liz), Dwayne Swenson and his wife Larinda, and his grandsons Tyler Swenson and John Swenson. His stepbrother Joey Garf and stepsisters Gail Purvis and Karen Lee.
