Roy E. Johnson, Jr.

Roy Johnson, 64, of Gatesville passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Rock Church Cemetery in Cranfills Gap.

Roy was born on July 31, 1959 to the late Roy Edwin and Flossie Blassingame Johnson, in Clifton. He grew up and graduated from Cranfills Gap in 1977. Roy excelled in football throughout high school and received a scholarship to Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. He returned home to Cranfills Gap to start his family and to do ranch work. After leaving ranch work, Roy went to work for the Chemical Lime Plant in Clifton. He became the rail lead man and continued to enjoy his position up until his passing. Roy had worked for the Chemical Lime Plant for 28 years and had always been very dedicated to his job and the men who worked under him.

Roy enjoyed playing golf with his son and son-in-law Cody and Jeff. He enjoyed working outside in the yard and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He also loved watching and attending NASCAR races. Roy loved going new places with his wife Kim. Roy and Kim went and did everything together. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Flossie Johnson, and two beautiful daughters, Melony and Crystal.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kim Johnson; children, Monica Pechacek and husband, Jeff of Elk, Ashton Hinton and husband Wyatt of Bangs, Cody Johnson and wife, Whitney of Clifton; brothers, Rick and Jerry Johnson and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Ally and Addy Pechacek, Gunter Hinton, Jack Johnson, Lashelle Williams, and soon to be new granddaughter, Sutton; He is also survived by his loving precious four legged friend, Lillie Rose.

Pallbearers will be Benny Nelson, Owen Carlson, Lee Kroll, Daniel Del Bosque, Johnny Ozuna, Andy Ficklin, Johnny Valles and Joel Crawford.
