Sammy "Cue Ball" Evans

Sammy Dee Evans, 63, of Clifton passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Grand Old Gospel Lighthouse, Clifton with Rev. George Watson officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Clifton Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Evans Family Cemetery.

Sammy was a long time resident of Clifton., TX. After a courageous battle with cancer, Sammy passed away at his home in Clifton, TX, surrounded by many family and friends. Sammy was born and raised in San Saba, TX. He was a Truck Driver that enjoyed talking to whomever he meet in the many different states he had the privilege to drive across.

He was one of fourteen children born to the late Lee Wilson and Mary Dee Evans and was the beloved husband of Chereta Evans for over 43 years 11 months. Sammy will forever be remembered by his brothers Butch Evans and wife Martha, Jackie Evans an wife Sissy, Bobby Evans and wife Rhonda, David Evans and wife Shelley and the late Curtis Evans and surviving wife Marsha, loving sisters Dale Ringo and husband Donnie, Wanda Nowlain and Husband Elmo, Darlene Ratliff and husband Donnie, Shelia Hohertz and husband Leroy, Vera Martin and husband Drex, Stormy Evans, the late Joan Kelley and husband Charles, and the late Annette Lane. Countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him and enjoyed his kindness.

Sammy loved being with his family and friends and especially his three kids: Craig Scott and wife Suzy, Sheryl Ratliff and son Ronnie Dee. His beloved grandchildren Zach and wife Meagan, Keri, Aubrey, Sam and wife Rebecca, Sara and husband Mike, Bobbie and Dylan, Trista, Jerimiah, Josh, Marcus, great grandkids: Ryan, Bailey, Kirra, Easton, Isabella, Lynnon, Ryder and numerous nephews and nieces.

Sammy touched the lives of many people with his generosity and kindness. He was a man that met no stranger and did not mind offering a helping hand when needed. He took in many kids and families as his own, even offering them a place to live when they did not have one. He never treated anyone any different no matter what they did in life.
