Scott Patterson

Scott Patterson, 70, went to be with the lord on September 28, 2017 surrounded by his family in Ft. Worth. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday October 7, 2017 at Clifton Funeral Home with Pastor John Stanislaw officiating.

Scott was born on January 12, 1947, in Hamilton to Leslie and Mary Jo Patterson. He went to school in Hico and graduated with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Tarleton State University and a Doctorate from Sul Ross University. Scott worked as a teacher, principal, and school superintendent during his career in education before retiring in 2003. In his spare time, Scott enjoyed fishing, wood working, watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his family.

Scott was truly blessed. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thornton Patterson and his children, Jody Patterson and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Abilene, Texas, his daughter Jeannie and son-in-law Armando Mata of North Richland Hills, Texas, his daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Justin Squyres of Clifton, Texas, and his sister Linda and brother-in-law Harlon Koonsman of Hico, Texas. Scott leaves behind seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Jo and Leslie Patterson of Hico, Texas.
