Sue (Martin) Speegle

April 25, 1939 — May 10, 2021

Sue Martin Speegle, a long-time resident of Ruidoso, New Mexico, passed away peacefully Monday, May 10, 2021 at the age of 82.

Sue was born April 25, 1939 in Italy, Texas to Roy S. Martin and Minnie Kimbrough Martin. During her early years, they lived in Ft. Worth, then moved to Bosque County, where she was a student of Valley Mills Schools. She married and had three children. Sue was always active in her children’s school activities, and instrumental in forming the Valley Mills Band Boosters Club. She was a graduate of Waco Beauty School and trained as a consultant for Beauty for All Seasons. Sue loved socializing, music, and dancing. A talented decorator, she enjoyed welcoming others into her home. She was always generous with family and friends, while her smile and laughter were continually a welcome ray of light for friends, family, and strangers alike. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.

She is survived by her sister Faye Janeway (Kenneth) of Belton, Texas; her children: Steve Speegle (Joni) of Katy, Texas; Sharon Speegle Edenfield (Remona) of Danville, Kentucky; and David Speegle of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren: Travis Speegle of Austin, Texas; Cameron Speegle of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Sierra Speegle of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her brother Bill Martin of Temple, Texas. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at Fairview Baptist Church, where she will be interred at the Fairview Cemetery (Bosque County, Texas).
