Susie Corpier

Susie Corpier, 85, of Clifton passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Lutheran Sunset Ministries. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Clifton. Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Susie was born on October 28, 1939, in Lovelace, Texas, to Nangle and Robbie Robertson. She moved to Mayfield in 1944 and attended school there, grades 1-8th. Susie graduated from Hillsboro High School on May 27, 1957. On June 6, 1958, she married James W. Corpier, at the Mayfield Baptist Church. They celebrated 47 years together before his passing on June 3, 2006. To this union, one son was born, James David Corpier. 

Susie and James moved to Clifton in 1958, to help at Corpier’s Grocery Store. Following Earl and Margaret’s retirement in the mid-sixties, Susie and James built and operated James’s Grocery Store, located where B.J.’s Western Wear used to be. After they sold the store, Susie went to work for Farmers State Bank, Clifton Bank, Interfirst Bank, and First National Bank, until her retirement in 1995. She also was the Title Clerk at Corpier Motors.

Susie was a member of First Baptist Church, Clifton. 

She was preceded in death by her husband James, and her parents.

She is survived by her son, David, and wife Janet of Clifton, Texas, grandson, Derek Corpier of Clifton, Texas, granddaughter, Brandi Corpier of San Antonio, Texas, niece Linda Alley and husband David of North Carolina.
