Syble was born November 27, 1923 in Moline, TX to Fred and Lydia Alice (Tubbs) Brandon. At an early age, Faye accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended school in Moline, Meridian, and Gatesville. In 1942, she graduated from Gatesville High School. While attending Clifton Junior College she met the love of her life, Alvin Clarence Jorgenson. She taught school at Fairview School for one year. On March 16, 1944, she and Alvin were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton. To this union, one child, Alice Christine was born in Shreveport, LA in 1949. Alvin was employed for many years by Hudson Engineering. They were living in Sinton, TX when Alice graduated from highschool, and Faye was substitute teaching. His work took them to many interesting places and enabled them to make many friends all over the country. Eventually settling in Houston where they lived for several years. After Alvin’s retirement they returned to Clifton to care for Faye’s aging father, and reunited with Trinity Lutheran Church. After Alvin’s death in 1999, Faye moved her membership to First Presbyterian Church.

For many years, Faye was involved in all activities including, Clifton Improvement Society, Study Guild, and drinking coffee at Dairy Queen with her friends. Her favorite pastimes included her church bible study group, church greeter, reading, working puzzles, attending family reunions, the annual Hudson Engineering reunions, catching up with old friends, and especially taking care of her cats.

Faye loved her church family and all they did for her.
