Valorie L. Westley, RN passed away September 14, 2021 at a nursing home in Huntsville, Texas. She was born in their farm home near Clifton, Texas by the local Dr. Goodall on October 1, 1939. She was 81. She is survived by her husband Hayden Westley and son Steven of Huntsville. Her grandsons are Brandon Westley and wife Katie of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Daniel Davidson and wife Lindsey of Huntsville, Texas. Matthew Davidson and wife Kim of Huntsville, Texas. Four great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Valorie is survived by her sister Faye and husband Jerry Heath of Forney, Texas. They have two sons Chad and Denver. Sister Leola and husband Bill Bakke of Cleburne, Texas, deceased. They have a son Mike and daughter Karen.
Valorie and her family moved from Clifton, Texas to Hico, Texas around 1954. She finished high school after the eleventh grade. She then attended nursing school with the Scott & White nursing school in Temple, Texas. She completed her nursing degree in 1960. She worked a while at the Clifton Goodall & Witcher hospital. She worked briefly at the Waco VA and the Houston VA Hospital.
Upon marriage to Hayden in December of 1961 she worked several years at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital where their son Steven was born in 1963. Her last nursing job was with the clinic of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where she retired after 15 years. She retired in the 1990s.
Valorie loved to sew, embroidery and cook. Using her nursing skills she would often help people hurting or in need in many ways.
A memorial will be held at the Methodist Church in Clifton, Tx. Sat., October 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
