Wilford "Will" C. Senn

April 27, 1946 — September 6, 2023

Clifton

Wilford (Will) Cornelius Senn passed peacefully after a long illness on September 6, 2023, in Clifton, Texas.  Wilford was born on April 27, 1946, to Loy and Lillie Merle Smith Senn in Enterprise, Alabama.  He was affectionately known to his family and friends as Will.

Will graduated from high school in La Grange, Georgia.  He briefly attended college and then went to work for a construction company.  After the construction job, he was hired as production manager for the Talon Zipper and Thread Company.   His experience as a production manager led him to developing a subdivision in La Grange.  On December 27, 1967, he married the love of his life, Wanda Joan Hester.

Will and Joan started Gun Country Sporting Goods and an import/export firearms and ammunition company in 1996.  The company was sold in 2001 and the Senn’s bought a cattle ranch in Snyder, Texas, and established the Covered S Ranch.  In 2011 they sold Covered S Ranch and bought Valhalla Ranch between Clifton and Cranfills Gap where they continued to raise quality cattle.

Will was an accomplished horseman.  He loved cutting horses and working his cattle.  He also loved hunting deer, quail, and dove through the years.  In later years he developed a love for classic vehicles.  He was well-known around the area for his beautiful classic cars.  Will did not take his hobbies lightly.  It was either all in or nothing.

Will was a very generous man and gave of his time.  He always donated to local causes in the area and to national organizations that help children.

Will is dearly missed by all his friends and family.  Will was preceded in death by his parents Loy and Lillie Merle Smith Senn, and his sister Annette Senn Wright.  He is survived by his wife Joan, sisters Jeanette Senn Kennedy, Janet Senn Johnson, Deborah Ann Senn, Penny Diane Senn Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

As per Will’s request, there will be no service.
