William "Bill" Burk Olson

William "Bill" Burk Olson, age 83, of Robinson, Texas, passed away on May 2, 2024, in Waco, TX. He was born on February 19, 1941, in Clifton, Texas, to the late Charles and Sally Olson. Bill was a beloved husband, father, PaPa, brother, and friend.

Bill's career spanned 35 years as an electrician at the VA Medical Center until his retirement in August of 1994. He also worked alongside his brothers, Charles and Leo at Olson Construction as the Master Electrician for many years. He served in the Air Force for 8 years, including during the Vietnam War, and later worked at the US Navy Naval Shipyard. He was also a member of the VFW. Bill was a dedicated employee who found fulfillment in his work.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joy Cash Olson of Robinson, his daughters Pamela Gould and husband Ron of Glen Rose, Kimberly Koonsman and husband Rickey of Meridian, and Rebecca Paruszewski and husband Jim of Burleson; his sister Dorann Kinsey and husband Jim of Robinson, brother Leo Olson of Robinson, sister-in-law Fredda Olson of New Braunfels, 10 grandchildren, Jehramy, Ryan and wife Shannon, Kimber, Tyler, Dalton, Zane, Jett, Mallory, Burkly and Faith; 2 great-granddaughters, Lexi and Madison, and countless other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Olson, Sr., mother, Sally Olson, and brothers Charles Olson, Jr., and Douglas Olson.

Bill will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his one-on-one time with his grandchildren. Bill's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his remarkable spirit. Bill’s family is profoundly grateful to the medical staff who cared for him the past few months. We feel blessed by all who joined him on his journey in prayer.

A service to honor Bill will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Clifton Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org.
